The weather was perfect for footy, and our boys were fired up from the first bounce. Though Camden got the jump on us in the opening quarter, leading with 3 goals and 6 behinds for 24 points to our 1 goal for 6 points, we never lost our tenacity.
In the second quarter, we tightened our defense and started to find our rhythm. We added a goal and 2 behinds to our tally while holding Camden to just 3 behinds. Our halftime adjustments clearly set the tone for the rest of the match.
The third quarter was where our Demon spirit truly shone! We outscored Camden by booting 2 goals and 2 behinds, while they could only manage 2 behinds. The resolve and teamwork exhibited by our players were nothing short of inspiring.
In the final quarter, we sealed the match with another goal and 3 behinds. Camden couldn't break through our defense, only managing 2 behinds. The final score saw Penno triumph with 38 points to Camden's 31 points. What an exhilarating comeback!
Special shoutout to our best players of the day: Joshua Bartlett was an absolute standout with his relentless drive, Jake Condon showed strategic brilliance, and Luc White's field coverage was unmatched. Michael Robertson and Sebastian Charon proved pivotal in both defense and attack, while Harry Buckley's precision kicking was a delight to watch.
Our goal scorers were on fire! Josh Mott led the charge with 2 impressive goals, while Scott Chapman, Jed Corbett, and Tino Manfre each added to our scoreboard with crucial goals at vital moments.
Coaches Josh Mott and Nathan Breen deserve enormous credit for their tactical acumen and inspiring leadership, guiding our boys to a well-earned victory.
