Under the gleaming lights at 7:30 PM, our young guns burst onto the field and showed everyone what Penno spirit is all about. From the first siren, it was clear who came to dominate. We launched into the game with fire in our bellies, chalking up an impressive 3 goals and 3 behinds to Inner West's 1 goal and 2 behinds, putting us ahead at 21 to 8 by the end of the first quarter.
But we were just warming up! The second quarter was all about Penno precision and passion, as we shut down Inner West entirely, leaving them scoreless while we piled on another 4 goals and 3 behinds. Talk about a powerhouse performance! We took a commanding lead into halftime with a scoreline of 48 to 8.
The third quarter turned into a defensive arm-wrestle; although we couldn't find the big sticks for a goal, our lads kept Inner West from scoring too, maintaining our daunting lead. We added 4 behinds to stretch the scoreboard and entered the final term at 52 to 8.
Just when Inner West thought they might mount a comeback, our boys turned up the heat again. We sealed the match with 2 more goals and 2 behinds. Inner West managed 1 goal and 2 behinds, but it was all too little, too late. The final siren echoed through the night as we celebrated a decisive victory: Penno 66, Inner West 16.
Shout out to our best players of the night! Hunter Gaunt was absolutely relentless, Hugh Lucas showed unmatched skill, and Ryder Alley was an unstoppable force up front, booting 2 crucial goals. Maximus Baker, Matthew Orchard, and Luke Hallam also stood tall among giants, each making significant impacts that propelled us to victory.
