The atmosphere was electric right from the first bounce as we ended the first quarter slightly behind with a score of 1.3 (9) to Inner West's 2.1 (13).
In the second quarter, it was a tightly contested battle, with our boys tirelessly pushing forward but only managing to add four points from behinds to our tally, as Inner West edged ahead 4.0 (24). At halftime, the score stood at Penno 1.7 (13) to Inner West's 4.1 (25).
The third quarter saw our determination shine through with Daniel Crompton and our defensive line, including Lachlan Flower and Jack McDonald, preventing Inner West from running away with the game. We added another goal and two behinds to our score while holding Inner West to 1.3 (9). With the scoreboard reading Penno 2.9 (21) to Inner West 5.4 (34), we knew the match was far from over.
And then came the final quarter. Our boys stormed back with a sensational display, piling on five goals and a behind, while our defense kept the Inner West to a solitary behind. A brilliant team effort that showcased our resilience and teamwork! The final siren sounded with Penno triumphant at 7.10 (52) to Inner West's 5.5 (35).
