In this early-season skirmish, our mighty Penno MD3 lads showed plenty of heart but fell short with a final score of 30 to Balmain's 75. Let’s break it down quarter by quarter.
Quarter 1 our boys came out firing with goals from Cameron Akhurst and Adam Nixon, getting us an early lead of 13 to 9. We started with the right energy.
In the 2nd quarter, Balmain shifted gears, but our defense held strong with Rowan Love leading the charge as one of our best players. Despite Balmain scoring 22 to our 2, the Penno spirit never wavered.
Quarter 3, and Jonathan Moran kicked a beauty, keeping our hopes alive as we added 8 points to our tally. Balmain edged ahead with 15, but the contest was intense.
With Cameron Akhurst adding another goal to his tally, we fought valiantly, but Balmain's 29 points proved too formidable this time. However, the effort put forth by Pat Witt and Tino Manfre in the fourth was truly commendable.
Rowan Love, Pat Witt, and Tino Manfre stood out with their exceptional performances, and our goal scorers, Cameron Akhurst, Jonathan Moran, and Adam Nixon, showcased their prowess upfront.
Remember, every challenge is an opportunity to improve, and the learnings from this match will fuel us for future rounds. The passion and determination shown by our players were second to none, and I have no doubt our Penno MD3 team will bounce back stronger next week.
Onwards and upwards into next week! ??
