The first quarter saw our boys off to a challenging start, with Sydney Uni taking an early lead, leaving us trailing at 7 to 28. However, the team rallied and the second quarter witnessed a fantastic fightback. With sharp precision and relentless energy, Penno outscored Sydney Uni, bringing us back into contention midway with a score of 21 to their 13.
Eamon Macauley’s stellar performance kept the Demon engine running smoothly. As our best on ground, Eamon's determination and skill were unmatched, inspiring his teammates every step of the way. Shout-out to our goal scorers — Noah Dinsmore and Cooper Smith both securing two each, with Leo Bayliss and Eamon Macauley also adding to our tally.
Despite our best efforts in the third quarter, Sydney Uni managed to find the posts more often, extending their lead slightly. Yet, our lads never backed down. The final quarter was a testament to our tenacity, where the defense held strong, allowing only a single behind from Sydney Uni while we added two more points to our own tally.
Though we didn’t bring home the win today, losing by just 13 points, we tip our hats to a hard-fought battle. Every game is a learning experience, and the resilience shown by our players today will be the cornerstone of our future matches this season.
