What a day for footy at Mike Kenny Oval — sunshine, a firm deck, and not a breath of wind to blame when blokes missed from 20 out (we’ll get to that…).
We hosted South West Sydney in what turned out to be a proper arm wrestle, finishing all square at 41 apiece (6.5 to 5.11). A draw probably sums it up — momentum swung more times than a dodgy gate at Bunnings, and neither side quite able to land the knockout blow.
The Game
We started brightly in the first quarter, getting off to a 15–11 lead. Ball movement was crisp early and pressure was where it needed to be. The second term tightened up, and South West Sydney crept in front by half-time, before really challenging in the third where they got out to a handy lead.
To the boys’ credit, the response in the last was first class — we dug in, lifted the intensity around the contest, and clawed our way back to level it up by the final siren. Probably a fair result, but if we’re honest, we left a few out there.
Scoreboard Impact
Big shoutout to Squid Murray and Lachy Boyd, both slotting three goals each and providing a constant threat up forward. Between them, they kept the scoreboard ticking and gave us a chance all day.

Final Thoughts
A draw always feels a bit like you're not sure what to do with it — but there was a lot to like in the fight and resilience, especially late in the game.
With Stormy, HT and Roman heading off for the next couple of weeks, it’s a great opportunity for the rest of the group to step up. No passengers — everyone’s got to lean in and play their role.
Good hit-out, plenty to build on… and maybe a bit of goal-kicking practice wouldn’t hurt either.
