Division 3 faced a strong Camden outfit in Round 11, falling 1.3 (9) to 10.10 (70). While the scoreboard wasn't the result we were after, there were still plenty of positives to take from the performance.
Camden applied consistent pressure throughout the day and made the most of their opportunities, making it difficult for us to establish any sustained momentum. To the group's credit, the effort never dropped. The players continued to compete around the contest, worked hard defensively and stuck at the task despite the challenging circumstances.
Although scoring opportunities were limited, there were encouraging signs in the way the group continued to support one another and remained committed to the team structures. The challenge now is to convert those patches of effort into longer periods of consistent football and reward ourselves on the scoreboard.
Congratulations to Jed Corbett, Callum Toohey, Dom Pyne, Josh Mott, Bill O'Brien and Geordie Dooley, who battled hard all day and set the example with their work rate and competitiveness.
We'll take the lessons from this performance, continue to build on the positives and look to respond strongly next week.
