Pennant Hills delivered another composed and disciplined performance on Saturday, controlling the contest for the majority of the afternoon to record a 28-point victory over St George, 8.10 (58) to 4.6 (30).
The Demons settled into the game well, applying consistent pressure around the contest and making it difficult for St George to generate clean attacking opportunities. While accuracy in front of goal proved challenging early, Pennant Hills' defensive structure ensured they took a seven-point lead into the first break.
The second quarter was one of the side's strongest, with the Demons tightening up behind the ball and preventing St George from registering a goal. Their ability to win the contested ball, maintain field position and capitalise on forward entries saw the margin stretch to 19 points at the main break.
Pennant Hills continued to build on that momentum after halftime, producing their highest-scoring quarter of the game with three goals while again limiting St George's influence around the ground. Although the visitors finished with a stronger final quarter, the Demons never looked threatened, responding well whenever momentum shifted and closing out the match with a well-earned four-quarter performance.
Jacob Lackas was a constant threat inside 50, finishing with four goals, while Eamon Macauley added two majors. Joshua Chapple and Liam Pass also found the scoreboard as the Demons shared the offensive load.
Henry Andrews, Jack English, Eamon Macauley, Joshua Chapple, Leo Bayliss and Mark Mifsud were recognised among the side's best. Their leadership, work rate and commitment across all four quarters were instrumental in securing another important win as the side continues to build confidence heading towards finals.
