Pennant Hills produced a determined effort against a strong UNSW outfit but were unable to halt the visitors' second-half momentum, going down 8.4 (52) to 11.10 (76).

The Demons started the game with plenty of energy, taking control early through efficient ball movement and making the most of their opportunities inside 50. Three first-quarter goals gave Pennant Hills a four-point lead at the first break, and they continued to match UNSW's intensity throughout a closely contested second term. Despite both sides exchanging goals, the Demons held a narrow one-point advantage heading into halftime.

The game shifted after the main break as UNSW capitalised on several forward entries, kicking four goals in the third quarter to establish a 19-point lead. While Pennant Hills continued to compete strongly around the contest, they found it difficult to slow the visitors' momentum and were unable to convert enough opportunities to close the gap.

The Demons battled hard until the final siren, with two final-quarter goals keeping the pressure on, but UNSW responded each time to secure the 24-point victory.

Matthew Durkin and Michael Morris each finished with two goals, while Jacob Adams, Sebastian Charon, Nick DeGorter and Jake Protogeros also hit the scoreboard.

Matthew Durkin, Callum Toohey, Jake Protogeros, Dan Witt, Michael Morris and Sebastian Charon were recognised among the side's best, leading a resilient effort despite the result. While the outcome didn't fall their way, the Demons showed they can match it with quality opposition for long periods and will look to build on the positive passages of play in the weeks ahead.
