Pennant Hills took control early and never looked back. The boys dominated territory in the opening term, creating plenty of scoring opportunities and putting the East Coast defence under sustained pressure. While the scoreboard could have been even more flattering given the 2.7 return, the Demons finished the quarter with a 19-point lead and plenty of momentum.
The second term saw the Demons begin to capitalise on their opportunities, adding four goals to push the margin out to 39 points by the main break. Importantly, the boys continued to work hard without the ball, restricting East Coast to just one goal across the first half.
East Coast managed to find a little more space in the third quarter, but the Demons remained in control. Three goals helped Pennant Hills extend the margin to 44 points heading into the final term, setting up an opportunity to finish the afternoon strongly.
And finish strongly they did. The Demons produced their best attacking quarter of the match, piling on five goals and three behinds to put the result beyond doubt and finish with a 76-point win.
Henry Williams, Joshua Chapple, Noah Dunn, William Baker, Henry Andrews and Benjamin Stewart were among the standout performers, with strong contributions across the ground.
There was also plenty of reward for effort in front of goal, with Benjamin Stewart leading the way with three majors, while Hugo Abe, Noah Dunn and Eamon Macauley each contributed two. Jacob Lackas, Mark Mifsud, Caleb Parslow, Liam Pass and Cooper Smith also got their names on the scoresheet.
A strong attacking display, coupled with a disciplined effort defensively, gave the Demons control of the game from start to finish.
